Pawandeep Rajan Named Winner Of Indian Idol Season 12

The wait is finally over! India’s most loved music reality show Indian Idol finally has a winner!

After nine months of intense battle among contendors, Pawandeep Rajan emerged as the last man standing! He gets to take home the prestigious Indian Idol season 12 trophy and cash prize of 25 Lakh rupees.

The “greatest” grand finale of Indian Idol season 12 commenced at 12 noon on the 15th of August, the day when citizens of the country were celebrating its 70th independence day. The finale had a run time of 12 hours with power packed performances from all the finalists.

Pawandeep Rajan Emerges Winner

Pawandeep Rajan spoke to entertainment tabloid Indian Express about his victory. He said “Indian Idol is a platform that gives a lot of respect to artists and the kind of exposure it gives you is unmatched”.

Who Were The Runners Up?

The runner up position was bagged by Arunita Kanjilal and Sayli Kamble respectively. They won 5 Lakh rupees as the cash prize. The third and fourth runner up were Mohammed Danish and Nihal Tauro. They won 3 Lakh rupees.

The top 6 Finalists were all pumped up for the final countdown! Each of them get to take home Rs. 75,000 from Raj Superwhite Soap and they also got hampers from Colgate and Denver.

Grand Finale Special Appearances

Indian Idol season 12 has scripted its name as one of the most loved and longest running music reality shows of the nation. For the grand finale, well-known and reputed veterans of music industry graced the dice. Guests for the episode were Sukhwinder Singh, Mika Singh, Amit Mishra, Kumar Sanu, Javed Ali, Alka Yagnik, and Udit Narayan.

The upcoming movie Shershaah’s cast also had a surprise appearance during the 12-hour grand finale. The famous actor from southern India Vijay Deverkonda sent a message for his favorite contestant Shanmukhapriya.
