One Of Us Is Lying: All You Need To Know About Peacock’s Murder Mystery

One of the best selling books by Karen M. McManus, One of Us is Lying is set to premiere as a TV series. The series is set to premiere this October before Amazon Prime’s I Know What You Did Last Summer.

One of Us is Lying will premiere on streaming platform Peacock and it is labelled as one of the most anticipated shows of the year. TV Line described the series as “When The Breakfast Club meets I Know What You Did Last Summer”. The show had begun filming in 2019 and will see a new group of faces. But as you wait for the series to premiere, you can watch Departure, The Capture, Intelligence and Brave New World.

The show is set to premiere on October 7 on Peacock along with new episodes that will release weekly. Peacock is available on Android, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, iOS, Vizio SmartCast TVs, Xbox One, and LG Smart TV.

The story revolves around five high school students who enter detention and one of the students ends up dead. This leads to an investigation as the story follows the upside-down in their lives while figuring out who would murder the student. The logline reads, “Based on the bestselling novel of the same title by Karen M. McManus, ONE OF US IS LYING is the story of what happens when five high schoolers walk into detention and only four make it out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.”

It also added that the series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group. “Darío Madrona (co-creator of “Elite”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Erica Saleh (“Evil”) wrote the pilot and will executive produce. Saleh is represented by ICM, Writ Large, and attorney Jared Levine.”

The logline further added that the series is executive produced by John Sacchi and Matt Groesch of 5 More Minutes Productions. The pilot is directed and produced by actress and filmmaker Jennifer Morrison. Mark McKenna plays Simon in the murder mystery and he is best known for Redwater.

Marianly Tejada plays Bronwyn, Cooper van Grootel as Nate, Annalisa Cochrane as Addy, Chibuiken Uche as Cooper, Jessica McLeod as Janae, Barrett Carnahan as Jake and Melissa Collazo as Maeve, Bronwyn’s younger sister. The trailer sees the life at Bayview High School and the voiceover sees four students who are dubbed as offenders. Mark’s Simon narrates the story as the clip shows his death and the allegations are seen being thrown around.
