New Mirror Dimension Footage in Spider-Man: No Way Home TV Spot

The first TV promo for Spider-Man: No Way Home has been published, and it shows Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) mirror realm in greater detail.

The marketing for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment’s upcoming collaboration has begun to ramp up. With only a month and a half till the blockbuster hits theatres, this makes sense.

A new promo shot has been released to keep fans engaged as they wait for the second and most likely final trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

New Mirror Dimension Footage

The first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home was published in late August 2021, and it’s been more than two months since then. The video didn’t disappoint after months of excitement, effectively laying out the idea of the impending Jon Watts-directed threequel.

The next film, which picks up after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, deals with Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) secret superhero identity being discovered. Desperate for help, he approaches Doctor Strange, who jumps at the chance, but activating the tampered spell inadvertently deepens their situation by forcing them to deal with the universe.

Marvel Studios and Sony are speeding up their marketing efforts for Spider-Man: No Way Home as the release date approaches, as seen by the release of the first TV spot for the film. The video largely contains material that has already been released, although it does include an extended shot of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange entering the Mirror Dimension.

Below is a clip from @sebbazz on Twitter:

The Mirror Dimension originally debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first Doctor Strange film. It’s a parallel dimension where magical people can conduct sorcery without having any negative effects on the actual world.

Doctor Strange appears to have opened it himself in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer so that he and Spider-Man can travel there.

The explanation for this is unknown, however, it could be related to the film’s multiversal elements. With the Sinister Six making an appearance in the MCU, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the future Sorcerer Supreme tries to lock the villains in the Mirror Dimension until they figure out how to deal with the situation.
