Netflix Teams Up With Jennifer Lopez For Movie Adaption Of Best Selling Book ‘The Cipher’

Continuing their collaboration, Netflix reunited with Jennifer Lopez for recording the best-selling book The Cipher. Lopez produced and acted in the project.

The author of the book, Isabella Maldonado will also be acting as the main producer of the movie.

The script for The Cipher will be taken from Isabella Maldonado’s book with the same name by Condor actors Jason Smilovic and Todd Katzberg.

In addition to Condor, Smilovic previously worked for Lucky Number Slevin, Bionic Woman and My Own Worst Enemy. No director has been attached to the project yet.

The Plot

Netflix selected Jennifer Lopez for The Cipher and producing partners Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Liza Fleissig, Ginger Harris-Dontzin, Catherine Hagedorn and Maldonado are executive producers. Courtney Baxter is associate producer.

Netflix’s The Cipher is a harmonious film version of Isabella Maldonado’s best-selling 2020 book with the same name.

The story of Netflix’s The Cipher focuses on FBI agent Nina Guerrera (Lopez), who finds herself dragged to a serial killer’s web site after he writes complex online codes and riddles related to the latest killings to entice her to cat-and-mouse chase.

Famous international actres Jennifer Lopez will lead The Cipher on Netflix.

Her recent acting career work is Hustlers nominated by the Golden Globe, Second Act and Shades of Blue.

She will be back in The Mother for Netflix soon. Lopez will be playing FBI agent Nina Guerrera.

Production Schedule

No production dates for Netflix’s The Cipher are known yet, but knowing that Jennifer Lopez will begin her work on The Mother in September 2021, it is likely that The Cipher won’t enter production until 2022.

Release Date

Considering that even the recording of The Cipher is still a long way off, we can expect the film to be released no more sooner before 2022 or 2023.
