Mr. Corman was a dramedy which was helmed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The show will not be renewed for a second season at Apple TV+. It revolved around a dissatisfied fifth-grade teacher as he copes up with his failed music career.
Joseph was the creator, writer, director, star and executive producer of the show. The ten-episode season was released weekly on the streaming platform from August to October. Joseph’s show did receive good reviews from critics and audiences but it did not perform well. He will continue to work with Apple TV+ on Wolfboy and the Everything Factory.
It is an animated children’s series and he will be the voice actor and executive producer. The first season premiered on September 24. Apple TV+ has advanced its reputation to comedies because of popular shows like Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest. Ted Lasso has jumped on season 2 and continues to draw in more attention. Meanwhile, Mythic Quest has been renewed for a third season.
Another series, Trying has also been roped in for season 3 and Schmigadoon! will likely be renewed after its successful season 1. Mr Corman is the second scripted show to leave after Little Voice. It is available to stream on Apple TV+ and also features Arturo Castro, Debra Winger, Shannon Woodward, Logic, Juno Temple, Hugo Weaving, and Lucy Lawless.
The show looks at the main character, Gordon Levitt’s Josh Corman who is suffering from depression and anxiety as he teaches his students in the San Fernando Valley.
