Millie Bobby Brown To Star In Russo Brother’s Sci-Fi Film, The Electric State

Millie Bobby Brown is going to star in the science-fiction movie, The Electric State for Universal Pictures. Anthony and Joe Russo will be directing and producing the same.

The project is based on Simon Stalenhag’s illustrated novel of the same name. it is set in an alternative future and centers on a teenage girl. The girl, portrayed by Millie, will realize that a strange but sweet robot who comes to her has been sent by her missing brother.

She and the robot set out to find her brother in an imaginative world of humans. It consists of all kinds of robots as they unveil a grand conspiracy in the process. The Russo Brothers made a statement as they expressed how thrilled they are to have the deal with Universal. The studio has agreed to a theatrical release of The Electric State.

They said, “This is incredible news for us as filmmakers, and for audiences around the world who want an opportunity to experience films in theaters again. This is also a positive sign that, as vaccines become available, the theatrical market is returning.”

The Russo Brothers are known for their direction of Marvel blockbuster movies, Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. They have been preparing and developing the project since 2017. The Russos will direct and produce through their AGBO production banner. It will also be produced by Mike Larocca under AGBO.

Both Andy and Barbara Muschietti are connected to the production team as well. The script for The Electric State was written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. They have also scripted Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.

Millie has been busy in the production of the fourth installment of Stranger Things. She plays her well-known character Eleven in the hit Netflix series. The actress was recently a part of movies like Enola Holmes, Godzilla vs. Kong, Damsel, A Time Lost and The Girls I’ve Been.

The Russo Brothers are represented by CAA and Matt Galsor at Greenberg Glusker. Christopher and Stephen were represented by attorney David Colden. Millie is represented by WME, PCMA Productions, and Hansen, Jacobson, Hoberman, Teller, Warren, Newman, Warren, Rush, Kaller & Gellman L.L.P., Richman.
