Lil Nas X teases that he’ll be playing Miles Morales, In Spider-Man: No Way Home

After uploading a photo of himself with Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield, Lil Nas X teased that he will be playing Miles Morales in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home.

After rising to stardom in 2018 with the smash-hit track “Old Town Road,” the 22-year-old rapper, also known as Montero Lamar Hill, released his debut album, Montero, earlier this year.

Lil Nas X has repeatedly expressed his love for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even recreating the Marvel movie start in the trailer for his most recent album.

With the film’s premiere just weeks away and long-running rumors that both Garfield and Tobey Maguire may be returning to reprise their iconic roles still circulating, anticipation for Spider-Man: No Way Home is at an all-time high.

Fans have been screaming for a live-action Miles Morales to join the MCU, either alongside Peter Parker or in his own film. Following the success of 2018’s animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which went on to win Best Animated Feature at the 2019 Academy Awards, this desire grew even stronger.

After running into both Holland and Garfield at the GQ Man of the Year awards recently, Lil Nas X teased that he will be taking on the mantle of Morales in the next Spider-Man threequel. The rapper responded to a nice photo of the trio laughing away as they posed for a photo during the awards event by taking it to Twitter. “The rumors are true, I will be playing kilometers morales,” the “Industry Baby” singer joked. The image instantly went viral, with many fans expressing their wish to see Lil Nas X in the MCU.

While seeing Lil Nas X play Morales in an upcoming MCU film would be exciting, it could potentially create a plot hole, as the rapper recently acknowledged the use of his song in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which fans speculated could mean the singer survived Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War.

Lil Nas X is regularly the topic of remarkable fan art and fan casts in which he is imagined as a variety of comic-book characters. Due to its similarity to Gal Gadot’s suit in the film, the singer’s recent performance at the Met Gala was converted into Wonder Woman’s armor from Wonder Woman 1984.
