Lil Nas X Reacts To His Wardrobe Malfunction On SNL In New TikTok
The singer poked fun at himself on TikTok and Twitter after he experiences a wardrobe malfunction on the season finale of Saturday Night Live. Lil Nas X took to the social media handle to make fun of himself.
The rapper had appeared on the season finale which aired this past weekend to perform his latest single, Sun Goes Down and Montero (Call Me By Your Name). He was also alongside host Anya Taylor-Joy in a sketch called, Pride Month Song. The musician rose to fame after making waves on the country music charts with Old Town Road back in 2019.
Lil Nas quickly held a huge online presence on social media. He has garnered 6.4 million followers on Twitter and 16.4 million followers on TikTok. This year, he released his controversial hit, Montero (Call Me By Your Name).
During his performance on the song, fans got a little more than they thought they would when the rapper ripped his pants while dancing. He took to his social media later and poked fun at himself as he reacted to the incident. The musician had a text saying, “My pants really ripped on live television last night.”
Lil Nas, later on, posted another picture of himself as he laughed at a tweet from a user named WinwardCats. The user compared the wardrobe malfunction to the episode of SpongeBob Squarepants in which SpongeBob rips his pants. He then took to Twitter to address the incident and confirmed that the pants were not supposed to rip. The rapper tweeted, “NOT MY PANTS RIPPED ON LIVE ON TV” right after the performance.
But despite the wardrobe malfunction, Lil Nas handled the situation well both on stage and after the performance. There was a brief moment in which the viewers could see the musician looking down at his leather pants realizing something was wrong. After a brief moment, he smiles at the camera and continues his choreography with one hand on the exposed area.
The only thing is this incident might have taken away the attention from Lil Nas X’s other performance of the night which was his new single, Sun Goes Down. This song is a reflection of his youth and coming to terms with his sexuality. The rapper is not a stranger to controversies because of which this incident might not be a big deal. Lil Nas handling the situation and being able to take the story into his own hands by making fun of himself shows he is ready to move on.
