Kim Kardashian West Bombards Donald Trump With Pleas To Save Death Row Inmate

Kim Kardashian West has barraged Donald Trump with tweets as she asks him to spare the life of a death row inmate set to be executed this week. The reality star is a criminal justice reform campaigner who launched an attempt to save Brandon Bernard.

The individual is a 40-year-old who is imprisoned in Indiana. Brandon was sentenced to death back in 2000 after being found liable for two counts of murder. He was associated with the abduction and theft of two youth ministries in Texas.

The KKW Beauty founder was defining the crime as “terrible”, however, Brandon’s role was minor. Especially when compared to that of the other teens included, among which two of them are home from prison now. The reality star has tried to help Brandon by convincing President Trump to stop the execution.

The reality star tweeted: “Most of the time executions happen, in our names, without a lot of attention given to them. This is unacceptable. For the next 24 hours, I will be tweeting about Brandon and his case and why his life should be spared by @realDonaldTrump.”

Kim urged her followers to tweet the president asking him to act on the same. Campaigners have been fighting hard to protect Brandon’s life as they argued that during his trial prosecutors did not provide the evidence that could have changed the jury’s decision.

They say he only held the “lowest rung” of the gang with whom prosecutors claimed he and his co-defendants were affiliated. Brandon was sentenced to death for his part in the murders of Todd and Stacie Bagley. Some of the people who accompanied him had been under 18 and unsuitable for the federal death penalty.

Kim Receives Backlash For 40th Birthday Party

If Bernard is put to death, he would be the ninth federal prisoner to be executed since Trump’s administration terminated a 17-year pause in federal executions in July.

Kim has been striving to become a prominent criminal justice reform campaigner. She has previously met Trump at the White House. The reality TV star freed grandmother Alice Marie Johnson from prison back in 2018.

The Skims creator received major backlash back in October, after holiday tweets revealing her 40th birthday party. The beauty mogul has been called “tone-deaf” as she shared birthday snaps from her luxurious vacation.

The reality star shared how she had planned a surprise trip for her family as they headed over to a tropical island to mark her 40th birthday. She shared that she felt humbled and blessed as she thanked her loved ones.

The KKW Beauty founder thanked everybody who has helped her shape into the woman she is today. Sharing various snaps of her and her family, the star said she felt really lucky to be able to escape with her loved ones amid the pandemic.

She wrote, “Before COVID, I don’t think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was; to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment”. The Skims creator revealed that she asked everyone to quarantine; and had multiple health screens after two weeks.

The reality star shared, “I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island; where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time”. Further describing their vacation, she shared that they danced, rode bikes, swam near whales; kayaked, watched a movie on the beach, and much more.

However, Kim wrote, “I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now; so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40.” Many fans appreciated the beauty mogul for recognizing her privilege.
