Kim Kardashian’s Paris Jewelry Raid Made Easy With Social Media Said Robbers

Kim Kardashian’s social media posts gave armed robbers all the information to rob her in Paris. One of the robbers admitted that her posts made it easier for them to carry out an £8.5million jewelry heist.

The details for the gunpoint robbery that Kim went through, have emerged in leaked court papers filed in Paris. The reality star was robbed at gunpoint after traveling to the French capital for Paris Fashion Week in 2016.

The alleged robber, Aomar Ait Khedache, revealed that Kim was an easy target because she kept posting details about her possessions and their whereabouts. The robbery included her 20-carat, £3.5million engagement ring that she had received from her husband, rapper Kanye West.

Khedache only referred to Kim as ‘the rapper’s wife’ and said that the October 2016 heist was made easy because of her ‘internet giveaway’. Kim’s non-stop posting about her luxuries made it possible for the robbers to know where what was kept.

“The jewels were shown on the internet, explaining that she did not wear fake jewels,” Ait Khedache is reported as saying in prosecuting papers leaked to Les Echos newspaper in the French capital. The man said that the timing of her arrival was posted and if they needed updates they could just look on her social media.

Ait Khedache has served his time for other robberies but still awaits the trial for the raid, along with 10 other presumed gang members. He was also called as ‘Omar the elder’. The man has confessed to being involved in the 2016 robbery but denied the claims of him being the ring-leader.

The robbers stood as police officers before threatening the concierge of a short-term luxury apartment rental building close to the British Embassy in Paris known as the Hotel de Pourtalès.

Kim’s Horrific Experience

Kim was alone in the suite while her bodyguard went along with her sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner to a nightclub on the Champs-Elysées. The reality star was tied up and put in the bathroom as the robbers raided her jewelry. A gun was put to her head as the gang robbed her off of her luxuries.

Personal treasures taken included, two Cartier diamond bracelets, a Jacob necklace in gold inlaid with diamonds, earrings with diamonds, and a necklace by Loraine Schwarz. Kim was not physically hurt but she was shaken up. The reality star developed a phobia of going out after the robbery.

Kim’s bodyguard was sued for $6.1m (£4.7m) by the celebrity’s insurer after she was robbed in Paris. The Skims creator described the incident in an interview with the French newspaper, Le Journal du Dimanche.

“They grabbed me and took me into the hallway,” she said. “They tied me up with plastic cables and taped my hands, then they put tape over my mouth and my legs.”

The beauty mogul opened up about the attack in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians back in 2017. Kim sat down with her sisters Khloe and Kourtney and began to take them through her horrifying experience. She said she was lying on her bed because she was tired, and thinking if she should get up and wash her face.

The reality star explained she was dozing off when she hears pounding up the stairs. She thought it was Kourtney or her assistant Stephanie coming back from the nightclub. Kim called them out but there was no response which made her tensed.

‘This is it,’ Kim Recalls

The Skims creator explained to her sisters that her door was slightly open. She could see two guys holding another guy down and the two men were wearing police uniforms. Kim said, “So I slid off my bed and picked up my phone and I’m like, ‘I don’t know how to call 9-11 in a different country.'”

The reality star said she tried to call her security guard Pascal who was out with her sisters. But that is when one of the men snatched her phone away and threw her on the bed. “The guy came in, grabbed the phone from me, threw me on the bed and I was like, ‘This is it,'” Kim recalls.

The beauty mogul said she, later on, realized that the man being held down was the concierge. He was handcuffed with the key to the room. Kim revealed that later on after talking to him she realized the robbers were asking about ‘the rapper’s wife’. They asked him to take them to her room.

After the incident, Kim briefly went off of social media for a while and stopped giving timely updates.
