Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer Speaks About Her Romance With James Burke
Killing Eve alum Jodie Comer revealed that she is still in love with her boyfriend, James Burke. The actress’ boyfriend was a part of controversy for his politics and his alleged support of Donald Trump.
She opened up in an interview with Marie Claire Australia saying everything has fallen into place after she met her boyfriend earlier this year. The actress shared that her personal life feels sacred to her and it is something she wants to protect no matter what. “But yeah, I’m still there. Very, very much there,” she added.
The actress had attracted backlash for her relationship with James in recent months. However, she did not address the negativity and only had good things to say about her romance. She faced criticism on social media after it was reported that her boyfriend was a supporter of the Republican party.
The official records in the U.S. had shown that James is a registered Republican voter. Many members of the party oppose President Trump and his beliefs. The Killing Eve star was also criticized for dating James without any evidence of his allegiance and called for her to be canceled.
Fans also claimed that her public support for the Black Lives Matter movement and LGBTQ rights and that her character in the show is bisexual, does not go with any Republican beliefs. Back in January, when she appeared on the cover of January’s InStyle magazine, the actress slammed the accusations.

“I decided for my own health that I was not going to try and convince these people”
She refused to respond to the alleged claims that James supported Trump for the sake of her ‘health’. The actress shared how shocking it was for her and revealed it was the first time she had ever been dragged into something like that. She shared, “It was really shocking. It was the first time I had ever been dragged into something like that. And it wasn’t just me; it was my family…”
Jodie further added that she had seen the absurdity of what she and her partner were being accused of. She said, “I decided for my own health that I was not going to try and convince these people otherwise. I just wasn’t going to do it.” The actress met her boyfriend at a party last summer while shooting for her upcoming movie, Free Guy in Boston.
Just last month, the Killing Eve alum broke her silence about the accusations and speculations made against James’ politics. She insisted that all of it was false information that came out.
