Kanye West Documentary Lands At Netflix

A documentary series that includes two decades of footage and home videos of Kanye West’s life and work has landed at Netflix.

It was Billboard who first reported the news claiming that the sources cite putting the price tag at Netflix. The figure is reported to be $30 million, however, another source close to the matter has claimed it is not an accurate figure. Kanye’s documentary series will include never-before-seen footage of him and will also cover his career in music and fashion.

This will definitely also include his failed presidential bid in 2020, and the death of his mother, Donda West. The series will be multi-part and does not have a title yet. It hails from music video producing duo Clarence Simmons and Chike Ozah. They are better known as Coodie and Chike who directed and produced Kanye’s music video, Jesus Walks (Version 3).

They’ve also produced Through The Wire and the 2012 ESPN ’30 for 30′ documentary, Benji. The documentary was about Benjamin Wilson. Coodie and Chike have also produced music videos for Erykah Badu, Lupe Fiasco, and others. It is still not clear if the documentary will involve insight into Kim and Kanye’s now estranged relationship. The Netflix project is expected to be released this year according to Billboard.
