K-Pop Boy Band BTS Announced As Global Ambassador Of Elite Fashion Label Louis Vuitton
The luxury brand Louis Vuitton has welcomed K-pop megastars BTS as its latest ambassadors.
The French luxury fashion house introduced the boyband as its new ambassadors through its official Twitter account on Friday (April 23).
The brand also shared a photo of the Grammy-nominated band, wearing shirts and jackets from Louis Vuitton.
‘One Of The Most Influential In The World’
“BTS for Louis Vuitton. Joining as new House Ambassadors, the world renowned Pop Icons are recognised for their uplifting messages that impart a positive influence,” the luxury fashion house tweeted. “Louis Vuitton is pleased to welcome members RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook.”
In a press conference announcing the role of ambassador, Louis Vuitton called BTS “one of the most popular and influential groups in the world”. It also added that “universal popularity of BTS is felt around the world and Louis Vuitton is very excited to share the news of their new role with the Louis Vuitton fashion brand”.
What Did BTS Say?
“Being an ambassador for Louis Vuitton’s global brand is a very exciting moment for us,” BTS said in a statement. As part of the new partnership, boyband is expected to partner with the fashion house on a number of special projects. They are also expected to have the style and pieces of Louis Vuitton for their upcoming appearances.
In a separate press release, Louis Vuitton Men’s Artistic Director Virgil Abloh said he was “delighted” about BTS’ new ambassador role. “I am looking forward to this wonderful partnership which adds a modern chapter to the House, merging luxury and contemporary culture. I can’t wait to share all the very exciting projects we are working on,” he added.
BTS Brand Partnerships
Earlier this year, BTS wore suits from Louis Vuitton F / W 2021 men’s clothing collection to the red carpet of 2021 Grammy Awards. Abloh also designed a beautiful, dark and tuned look for the boy band during the event.
Earlier this month, the group announced that it would be partnering with McDonald’s fast food retailers in the brand new Famous Orders campaign.
The BTS signature order will include 9 or 10 Chicken McNuggets (depending on the market) chicken coop, medium World Famous fries, a medium drink and Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces inspired by recipes from McDonald’s South Korea.
