Jimmy Barnes debuts on top of the Australian albums chart with his music, Flesh and Blood.

The legendary rocker revealed he does not take any of this for granted. His achievement was announced late on Friday. This comes after his album, My Criminal Record, which had reached number one on the ARIA Albums Chart back in June 2019. That achievement had given him the all-time mark for most leaders, overcoming Madonna and U2.

He also became the first Australian solo act to have a No. 1 album in every decade since the 1980s. The rocker dedicated the album to his good friend Michael Gudinski; who had passed away back in March at the age of 62.

Jimmy was included in the ARIA Hall of Fame with Cold Chisel in 1993 and again as a solo artist in 2005. He debuted the title track of his latest album at Gudinski’s state memorial in Melbourne earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits has entered a second week atop the ARIA Singles Chart. Italian rock Maneskin also has a chart peak with their cover of Beggin (RCS/Sony), up 6-3. With a new high up 21-15, the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest Champs’ made their recent chart entry with I Wanna Be Your Slave.
