Ellie Goulding Opens Up About Living Apart From Her Husband, Caspar Jopling
Singer, Ellie Goulding has opened up about why she and husband, Caspar Jopling often live apart. Revealing that it can be good for their relationship to have some space.
Recent change in the couple’s living situation
The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony 11 months ago, had been isolating in Oxfordshire together during lockdown. However, Ellie has since moved back to London as she prepares to release her first album in five years, Brightest Blue, on Friday. The singer has declared her latest project, ‘the best album she’s ever made.’
Meanwhile, Caspar, who is an art dealer, has stayed behind to complete his Master of Business Arts degree (MBA) at Oxford University.
“I love my husband, but I also love myself”
In a recent Interview, Ellie confessed that she loves spending time alone because it allows her to totally focus on herself. “I love it! I love my husband. But I also love myself,” she explained.
“I can read a book, go for a run, I can eat messily. So it’s really great that you can have a partner that you don’t have to be with 24/7. Even when you’re married.”
Talking kids and romantic tendencies
On her husband’s romantic tendencies, Ellie continued, “He built me a cover for my cat litter tray. And he always buys me flowers. I was driving down the motorway in my electric car and I found a little rose in the glovebox.”
The singer also opened up about whether she and art-dealer Caspar were hoping to start a family any time soon. “I want to have kids but it’s not the, be all and end all. I am so happy right now and I want to have kids later. But it’s not encouraged to wait.”
Remembering Ellie and Caspar’s lavish, star-studded wedding
The couple will celebrate their first wedding anniversary on 31 August, after their glitzy nuptials last summer.
Ellie and Caspar tied the knot at York Minster Cathedral last September, with the singer wearing a Victorian-inspired Chloe wedding dress. Their wedding saw quite a famous guest list including Princess Eugenie and her husband, Princess Beatrice and mother Sarah, Duchess of York.
Also in attendance were Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, James Blunt, Sienna Miller and many more, making it quite the star-studded occasion. Their wedding reception took place at the splendid Castle Howard.
Sharing pictures of the day on Instagram at the time, she wrote. “This weekend I married the love of my life, in God’s own country, surrounded by the people I cherish. Overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you eternally to everyone involved in such a special time. Including every single person that traveled from far and wide to come and celebrate with us at York Minster. A place that my husband and his family hold close to their hearts. I will never forget your support and generosity. We both send you all so much love and a massive hug xx”
