Disney Fans Express Fury Over Kim Kardashian’s New ‘Disney Princess’ Status

Disney received backlash and have obtained divided opinions by offering the Kardashians a new TV deal. It is reportedly worth $150 million.

The Kardashians had announced earlier this year that they will put an end to their long-running reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The show has been on the E! Network since 2007. They had told fans how they want to enjoy their lives away from the camera.

However, Disney announced that they have been handed a “multi-year” deal to create content for US streaming service, Hulu. Disney owns the majority stake of the streaming service. Some Disney fans have expressed their outrage by the decision

They took to social media platforms to slam the House of Mouse for making the Kardashians ‘Disney Princesses’. A fan expressed their worry as they asked if this makes Kim Kardashian a Disney princess. The fan wrote, “This doesn’t make Kim Kardashian a Disney princess does it?”

Another concerned fan replied saying they hope not. The fan said, “on Walt Disney’s frozen chamber I hope not!” Many other fans expressed their concern that the reality star had launched her career via the release of a sex tape in 2007. Fans think this will tarnish the Disney brand.

One fan raged on Twitter: “We don’t want the Kardashian! They are not a good influence on kids!” And another wrote: “Really……The Kardashians are NOT Disney material!” Another fan begged as they asked if Disney is being serious. The fan begged Disney to not stain their brand by courting the Kardashians.

However, other fans joked on the news as one of them tweeted that Kim Kardashian is their favourite Disney princess. Hulu is known for creating content which is much more adult than what would be expected under the Disney brand.

Disney Announces 20 New Marvel & Star Wars Series

“With these Disney+ originals, along with theatrical releases and library titles, we will be adding something new to the service every week,” Kareem said. in the presentation, the company also revealed there would be two The Mandalorian spin-offs coming.

Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka both starting during Christmas of 2021. Not only that, there will be more Star Wars series called Andor and Obi Wan Kenobi featuring the return of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.

The presentation also revealed there will be a new series about Lando Calrissian (Lando) and The Acolyte. According to Disney, The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.
