‘Dickinson’ S3 Episode 4:Walt Whitman As Only Billy Eichner

Season 3 of Dickinson is here!! Indeed it has pushed the storyline Emily’s life in so many amazingly weird ways. The show shines brightest when Alena Smith and Co. throw all concept of reality out of the window. Secondly, embracing magical realism in their storytelling. Episode four of season 3 finds Emily coming face to face with the other acclaimed poet of her generation, Walt Whitman, even though they never met in real life. And boy, do they have a good time!

The episode kicks off with Emily’s letter finally being delivered to Thomas Wentworth Higginson, who while an author himself, is currently leading the first federally authorized black regiment in South Carolina fighting in the Civil War. But before he gets a chance to dive into Emily’s letter, the Colonel meets his newest recruit: Henry!

Ella Hunt, Jane Krakowski, Anna Baryshnikov, Alena Smith, Adrian Enscoe, Hailee Steinfeld, and Toby Huss at the ‘Dickinson’ premiere in New York City. The show set to begin streaming November,1 on the Apple TV+ service. The new series explores the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet Emily Dickinson, who was mostly unpublished during her life. 

‘Dickinson’ is set in the 19th century, but Alena Smith has written and created a coming-of-age story that makes Emily Dickinson the perfect heroine for this millennial generation. Hailee stars as Emily Dickinson. Anna and Adrian play her siblings, Lavinia and Austin. Jane and Toby play Emily’s parents. Ella stars as Sue, Emily’s closest friend and lover who marries Austin. Wiz Khalifa and John Mulaney are set to guest star.
