Chrissy Teigen Exits Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever’ After Online Bullying Controversy

Chrissy Teigen has left the planned voice role in the Netflix comedy, Never Have I Ever. This comes after the revelations that she once engaged in online bullying against model and reality TV personality Courtney Stodden.

The model has opted out of the upcoming project as she was in one episode of the upcoming season 2 of the Netflix comedy by Mindy Kaling. Never Have I Ever features voice-over narration for key characters performed by guest actors. The show revolves around an Indian American girl who is navigating her way through high school. This is while the character is dealing with the loss of her father. As per a spokesperson, the show will recast the role that Chrissy left.

The show was renewed three months after its premiere on Netflix. They announced the sequel in a fun Zoom call where Meitreyi Ramakrishnan revealed with her cast about the second season. Fans will be happy to learn that Never Have I Ever has been extremely popular on Netflix. The series resides in the top three TV shows on Netflix in multiple regions around the world throughout April 2020 and into May 2020.

Production of the series was set to take place from October 2020 but the filming could have been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Only a few implications came throughout November 2020 that filming was taking place including some BTS stories on Instagram.

Netflix released the first look for season 2 and the official release date is yet to be announced. But the show will also include new cast members along with the old. Tyler Alvarez is confirmed to join the cast as he will be portraying a recurring role. He will be playing the role of Malcolm who is described as a “young Hollywood type”.

Another additon will be PJ Byrne who has featured in The BoysBig Little Lies and Black Lightning. Along with them, John Mawson and Megan Suri are other names included for the sequel.
