Howard Wolowitz from The Big Bang Theory makes an appearance in a new Young Sheldon season 5 promo spot.
Simon Helberg portrayed the role in the CBS nerd-centric sitcom for 12 seasons, and he was noted for his cocky attitude and a strange sense of humor, as well as his borderline inappropriate relationship with his mother.
While Sheldon (Jim Parsons) enjoyed making fun of all of his friends, he was particularly fond of Howard because he isn’t a physicist and lacks a Ph.D. like the rest of his male companions.
Reveals Young Sheldon Howard Appearance
Howard had been bullied by Sheldon for years. Howard was the first defensive, but he got accustomed to it with time. He gained so much confidence after being assigned to the International Space Station that even if Sheldon continued to scold him, he would just point out that he was the only one in their group who had been to space. Despite their continuous quarrels, the couple shared a strong bond.
Mrs. Wolowitz (voiced by Carol Ann Susi) died, and Sheldon offered real words of comfort to her son, who was grieving. Now, almost three years after the finale of The Big Bang Theory, CBS is providing viewers with an update on Howard and Sheldon’s relationship.
A new promo clip for Young Sheldon season 5, episode 7 titled “An Introduction to Engineering and a Glob of Hair Gel” has been shared on YouTube by TV Promos. Helberg is expected to make a voice appearance in The Big Bang Theory spin-off, as previously reported, and this video gives fans an idea of what role he’ll play in the show.
Watch it below:
This isn’t the first time The Big Bang Theory cast members have appeared in Young Sheldon. Penny voiced the water in Sheldon’s (Iain Armitage) dream in season three. Then, as part of the prequel’s announcement that she and her husband now have a son named Leonard Cooper, Mayim Bialik resumed her role as Amy Farrah-Fowler. What’s interesting is that CBS didn’t make those guest appearances public. The big reveal was held back until they shows themselves. So it’s puzzling that CBS has not only let Helberg’s comeback be leaked but has also featured the character extensively in the promotion of the forthcoming Young Sheldon episode.
Fans of The Big Bang Theory will be delighted to learn that one of Sheldon’s Pasadena buddies will feature in the period project, whatever the reason. There appears to be some signature Sheldon and Howard bickering involved, as shown in the aforementioned video, which is always amusing to see.
