Ariana Grande Drops Her Latest Album, Positions
Ariana Grande dropped her sixth studio album, Positions. The singer has made 2020 better already by releasing her first song from the album before. However, she is giving us life with the release of her entire album.
The Thank U, Next artist had expressed her excitement before about sharing her music with the world. She posted a picture of herself on Instagram and wrote, “hellooo! can it be tomorrow night already please? love u so much I am so so grateful and excited. can’t stop cryin. hooooooooooo.”
Ariana’s latest album does not only bless us with her whistle notes and lyrics but it also features collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, The Weeknd. Meanwhile, Doja Cat lends her voice for a few verses in another song. Ty Dolla $ign collaborates on the song, Safety Net while The Weeknd sings along in Off The Table.
The singer revealed that the two collaborations are her favorite songs of the album. Fans speculate that Positions might be a love letter to her current beau, Dalton Gomez. The album includes 14 tracks as she seems to take her listeners through the journey of their relationship.
Ariana also gives us a little listen to her sex life as she takes her audience through some of her favorite moves. However, fans speculate that not all of it is about her present and future. The album has a reference to her ex-fiance, Pete Davidson. The song will take you back to their highly-public engagement.
Not only that, but the album also honors her late ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller in her collaboration with The Weeknd. The song is about her wonderment of love being completely off the table after the rapper’s death from a drug overdose. In a 2019 Vogue interview, the singer had opened up about her relationship with Mac.
Positions Shading Pete?
She said, “By no means was what we had perfect, but, like, f–k. He was the best person ever, and he didn’t deserve the demons he had.” The singer described herself as the glue, as she found herself becoming less and less “sticky” through time. She explained, “The pieces just started to float away.”
Ariana’s sixth studio album, Positions, comes after her 2019 album, Thank U, Next which was the top of the charts. It was on No, 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned an Album of the Year nomination at the Grammy Awards. The singer had broken the internet and seems to be on the verge of breaking the internet yet again.
Ariana Grande’s fans think she might have shaded ex-fiance, Pete Davidson. The singer recently dropped her new song, Positions which had her as the president.
Although Arianators think that the loved up, sweet lyrics are targeted towards her current boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, fans also think she shaded ex, Pete. In the song, the lyrics go: “Heaven sent you to me. I’m just hoping I don’t repeat history.”
The singer, however, seemed to have broken down the word ‘repeat’ as individual syllables. This made it sound like she is singing ‘re’ and ‘peat’. Fans were quick to notice as they took this reference to Pete and their romance.
A fan tweeted, “WAIT DID YALL CATCH THAT?? I’m just hoping I don’t re-PETE history maybe… I’m leaping.” Another fan tweeted, Ariana really said I’m just hoping I don’t re(Pete) history.” Many fans took note of the same and tweeted.
Ariana Reminds Fans To Vote Despite Album Release
Ariana and Pete got engaged after a few weeks of dating. The former couple, however, called off their engagement after four months. Pete had also got multiple tattoos made which referenced his relationship with Ariana. He got her signature bunny-ear mask tattooed behind his left ear.
However, after their fallout, he modified the tattoo and made it a heart. Meanwhile, Ariana had mentioned all of her exes in her superhit song, Thank U, Next. The singer had addressed their failed relationship in an interview revealing that her romance with him was “frivolous and fun”. She also deemed it to be “highly unrealistic” And Pete did criticize her description of their relationship.
Ariana announced her sixth album is releasing on the 30th of this month and also revealed that the name of her album is also Positions. The singer released her highly-anticipated album’s first song called, ‘Positions’. And not only that she also released the music video that was directed by Dave Meyers.
