Angelina Jolie shared that her new movie was like therapy for her. The actress is going through a bitter divorce with her ex, Brad Pitt.
However, she has revealed that she has found comfort in working on Those Who Wish Me Dead. The Maleficent actress is featuring in the upcoming venture as a firefighter suffering from PTSD. She revealed that she has been very lucky and it is a “bit of therapy”. Jolie told Extra: “I’ve been very lucky. It’s a bit of therapy. I’ve gotten to step into roles like this when I’ve needed to start swinging again.”
The actress further talked about her character’s journey as she revealed that she cant share everything. However, she shared that her character starts with being very broken and fails her psych exam. Angelina explained how everyone has those moments in life when we don’t know what we have got in us.
She then shared why it was important for her at that moment. The Eternals alum said, “It was important for me, at that moment, to see if I could do it, and to get literally through the fire… It felt like a good run we had together, and a good fight to push ourselves as people.”
Angelina has previously opened up about the movie as she described it to be a “healing” experience. She had shared that she is drawn to people who have been through something. The actress said, “I am drawn to people who have been through something and are broken and then find their way forward and overcome it.”

“As an artist, it’s very healing to play people like that.”
She shared how as artists it’s very healing to play a role like that and revealed that the character has been very healing for her. The mother shared, “As an artist, it’s very healing to play people like that. She’s been very healing for me because you just get so broken and then you stand back up.”
It’s no news that Angelina is currently going through a divorce with her husband, Brad who she married in 2014. She met the Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actor in 2005 on the set of their movie Mr & Mrs. Smith. At the time, Brad was still married to Friends star, Jennifer Aniston. Angelina and Brad share six kids – Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, and Knox and Vivienne, 12.
The Maleficent actress filed for divorce in 2015 as she cited irreconcilable differences. She requested primary custody of their children and the former couple’s lawyer had released a statement. “This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time.”
