Ariana Grande Releases New Song, ‘Positions’ Along With Preview of Sixth Album
Ariana Grande is back to gain back her position on every chart with her latest release.
The singer released her highly-anticipated album’s first song called, ‘Positions’. And not only that she also released the music video that was directed by Dave Meyers. The new song is a part of her sixth album.
Although the name of the album is still unknown, fans are calling it AG6 until they get the official name. The artist is releasing her sixth album after almost over a year later. Her last album, Thank U, Next debuted back in 2009 in February.
Ariana announced her new music album earlier this month as she took to her social media and tweeted. She initially tweeted, “Turning in these mixes and reminding u again to register to vote if u haven’t already / to vote early.” The singer, later on, tweeted that she cannot wait to give out the new album to her fans this month.
The One Last Time singer teased the name of her newly released song on social media with a short video of her. She showed off her manicured hand while typing the word ‘Positions’. The singer typed it out on a green backlit keyboard and also launched two announcements on her website.
The song has already reached Number #1 in US iTunes and various other charts making it her fastest song to reach number one.
Ariana revealed the release date of her first song on October 23 and the release date of her sixth album. They were countdown clocks for the release dates. The singer has been working on her music throughout quarantine.
Thank U, Next Deemed As Second Performing Album In The Country
The singer had shared a 45-second teaser of a song from her album. However, fans seemed to have figured out the name of the song already and are convinced it is titled, ‘Nasty’. She tweeted that she misses making things and cannot wait to get back to work. However, she urged fans to stay inside now.
Ariana had released her superhit collaboration with Lady Gaga, Rain On Me. It was released as the second single for Gaga’s recent album, Chromatica. The song was number one on the Hot 100 chart in the US.
The post of Ariana’s announcement garnered over 1 million likes within an hour. Even some of the celebrities expressed their excitement and shock. MTV took to their social media and said they really wanted it but weren’t prepared for it. Among the celebrities, Halle Berry shared the excitement with the fans and wrote, “Oooo” with black heart emojis.
The singer’s last album, Thank U, Next was released back in 2019. It was also deemed as the second performing album in the country. The last album was also nominated for Album of the Year and also received the Best Pop Vocal Album title at the Grammy Awards 2020.
However, she did not receive any awards even after having almost five nominations. Fans were not happy and started circulating theories about the Grammy’s not acknowledging Ariana’s talent.
Thank U, Next was written by the singer when she was in the midst of trouble in her personal life. She was with ex-fiance Pete Davidson and having trouble in paradise while she also had to come to terms with the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. Mac died a month after her 2018 album Sweetener was released.
Both of her relationships with Pete Davidson and Mac Miller were highly public. However, she has moved on with her now-boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, into a very private relationship. The couple was rumored to be dating after she was spotted kissing him around Valentine’s Day.
Ariana is spending quarantine time with her boyfriend as they made their relationship public in June. She posted a series of pictures that saw the couple getting cozy with each other.
Ariana will be releasing her sixth album on October 30. You know what to do. Block your calendars and get ready for this year to be a lot better.
