It’s finally here: the first wave of non-spoiler Eternals reactions. Marvel Studios is gearing up to debut MCU’s newest superhero squad in a few weeks, directed by Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao. They’re called the Eternals, and they’re basically immortals sent to Earth to protect mankind from the Deviants.

The heroes, who were created by the Celestials, have lived alongside humans for thousands of years. They were told to blend in and not become involved in any other human issues unless they were linked to their original mission, which is why their existence is unknown.

Angelina Jolie plays Thena, Richard Madden plays Ikaris, Lauren Ridloff plays Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry plays Phastos, Salma Hayek plays Ajak, Lia McHugh plays Sprite, Don Lee plays Gilgamesh, Kumail Nanjiani plays Kingo, Gemma Chan plays Sersi, and Barry Keoghan plays Druig in the MCU’s main Eternals team. They used to work as one unit, but after a few centuries, they decided to split up.

Due to the impending Emergence, the titular protagonists of Eternals must reunite. Smart Hulk’s (Mark Ruffalo) reverse snap in Avengers: Endgame appears to have set off this unknown MCU disaster. There’s a lot of excitement for the blockbuster as the newest superhero team to enter the franchise. The first reactions to the film have now surfaced on the internet. Take a look at the following:

Characters appear to be the standouts of the picture, as they are in past movies and TV episodes in the universe, which is a good thing because they are expected to play a major role in the franchise moving forward.

The two post-credits scenes were included in Eternals’ global debut, unlike earlier screenings. There are no hints as to what they could be at the moment, but based on some of the early reactions, it could very well be franchise-changing.

Why would Marvel Studios go to the trouble of excluding it from an early press screening of the film? Another important lesson from these social media messages is that Zhao’s Eternals doesn’t adhere follow the MCU’s traditional three-act storyline framework. As a result, it feels new and distinct from anything that has come before it.
