After all, in England, Virat Kohli won the toss and Joe Root threw the coin badly
In Test cricket on English soil, Indian team captain Virat Kohli has finally won the toss. However, he had to wait a long time for this since Virat Kohli, as captain, travelled to England to play Test matches in 2018. They had not won a toss since August 1, 2018, and had not won one since August 25, 2021, but they have now broken the record at Headingle in Leeds.
Virat Kohli had played eight matches as captain on English soil before the Leeds Test, including the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand, but he had never won the toss.
They did, however, win the toss against England at Headingly in Leeds, which was their first toss win in nine Test matches on English soil. Sir Don Bradman, the famous batsman, experienced something similar.
In fact, in his first nine Test matches on English soil as captain, Australian hero Don Bradman was only able to win the toss once. At the same time, the way the home team’s captain, Joe Root, flung the coin in the air was shocking in the third match of this five-match Test series. The coin is usually tossed, but Root tossed it as though he was attempting to throw it far enough in the air.
Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bat in this match. In the team, Virat Kohli did not make any changes. This is the fourth occasion in Virat Kohli’s captaincy that he has gone two matches without making any changes. Everyone hoped Virat Kohli would give Ashwin an opportunity, but it never happened.
