The ICC Test Rankings see Joe Root and Babar Azam rise, but India maintains their position

The updated ICC Test Rankings have been announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued the Test Rankings following the first Test match between Pakistan and the West Indies and the second Test match between England and India. Both England and Pakistan captains, Joe Root and Babar Azam, have risen in the latest Test rankings, but both teams have lost.

Joe Root, the English captain, has moved up two places in the ICC Test rankings, from fourth to second. Babar Azam has also moved up two places.

He was ranked number 10 before the first match of the two-match Test series against the West Indies, but has since dropped to number 8. Apart from Australian batsmen Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and David Warner, South Africa’s wicket-keeper batsman each had to slip a spot.

In the ICC Test rankings for bowling, there has been no change in the top 5, but James Anderson has moved up to sixth place from seventh, while Jason Holder has re-entered the top 10.

They’ve jumped from 11th to 9th place. Despite bowling brilliantly, Jasprit Bumrah has dropped from ninth to tenth place. At the same time, there has been a shift in the top 10 all-rounder rankings, with Ravindra Jadeja dropping from second to third.
