New Series ‘Resident Evil’ Based On The Capcom Game To Release On Netflix

Fans are beyond excited as ‘The Resident Evil’ live-action series is all set to release on Netflix.

After years of guess work and uncertain speculation, solid details have finally emerged that support the release of new season of Resident Evil on Netflix next year. Here is everything you need to know:

Resident Evil Franchise

Resident Evil is an upcoming Netflix Original series. It is based on a very famous Capcom game of the same name.

The franchise was founded in 1996 has produced a wide range of video games, novels, and popular movie franchises under the same umbrella.

Resident Evil On Netflix

Netflix looks set to go all-in with Resident Evil via a live-action series and at least two animated projects as well. One of the two animated project was announced as Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.

Netflix did not issue an official statement about the live-action series until August 27, 2020. The NXonNetflix account talked about Resident Evil in late August 2020.

The series was first reported back in January 2019. The following is the plot of the upcoming Resident Evil series;

Storyline

“The drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus. While the project is in early stages, the series is expected to incorporate all of Resident Evil’s signature elements, including action sequences and easter eggs.” (WhatsOnNetflix)

“The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak.”

Writer And Director

In an article posted by NXonNetflix in August 2020, we know that the first episode will be titled “Welcome to New Racoon City”. The episode was written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead).

Andrew Dabb is leading the series. His previous projects are Supernatural for The CW.
