Will Netflix Renew Comedy Series Sneakerheads For Season 2?
The TV Comedy series ‘Sneakerheads’ season 1 released on Netflix in September 2020. As we reach the one year anniversary of the show on Netflix, there is still no news whether a season 2 is on its way!
Netflix has not renewed Sneakerheads for season 2 and there are plenty of reasons for that.
Storyline
Sneakerheads Season 1 had six episodes to its name. The series came from Jay Longino. He has also worked on some other successful projects such as Uncle Drew and Skiptrace.
The cast members of Season 1 were Allen Maldonado, Andrew Bachelor, Jearnest Corchado and Matthew Josten.
Here’s the official synopsis of the storyline :
“Devin, a former sneakerhead turned stay-at-home dad, finds himself deep in the hole after falling for one of old friend Bobby’s crazy schemes. To get his money back, the at-odds duo goes on the hunt for the most elusive kicks in the game.”
Reviews Of Season 1
The series performed above-average but below excellent with the season 1. IMDb gave it a score of 6.2/10 while Rotten Tomatoes have given it a 71% audience score.
Sneakerheads Season 1 couldn’t make it in the Top 10 list for even a week and did not create the impact it was expected to.
Netflix shows that stay in the Top 10 list for more than 25-30 days are highly likely to be renewed for another season but Sneakerheads season 1 couldn’t do so. Thus, this might be a major reason as to why we have not heard the news of renewal so far from Netflix.
Is Sneakerheads Ghost Cancelled?
According to industry publications such as WhatsonNetflix, the more time that passes, the lower becomes the likelihood of getting a second season of the show.
Sneakerheads shall now be considered ghost-canceled (where Netflix or other parties never announce that the show is over) or we could see a miraculous return with Season II. Only time will tell what’s true.
