The first trailer for HBO’s upcoming family drama Succession has been revealed. According to HBO and HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys, the sitcom will return for its third season in the fall.

Logan Roy (Brian Cox), the powerful CEO of the WayStar media conglomerate, is about to announce his retirement when he changes his mind, throwing his family’s power-playing into chaos. “As a violent corporate fight threatens to develop into a family civil war,” according to the official description, “tensions increase as families rush to secure familial, political, and financial alliances.”

The second season ended with Jeremy Strong’s Kendall Roy organizing a rebellion against his father Logan, and the new trailer shows the aftermath.

Succession has won numerous awards, including a BAFTA for Best International Programme and a Golden Globe for Best Television Series in the Drama category. The series was also nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, with the writing award going to the show in 2019.

Hiam Abbass, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, and Peter Friedman all star in the episode. Hope Davis, Alexander Skarsgrd, and Adrien Brody are among the new Season 3 cast members.
