Watch Finch trailer on Apple TV to see Tom Hanks surviving in a post-apocalyptic world
The trailer for Tom Hanks’ original film, Finch, has been released on Apple TV.
A man, a robot, and a dog make an odd family in Finch, a compelling and moving tale about one man’s mission to ensure that his beloved canine companion is cared for when he passes away.
Finch, a robotics engineer and one of the few survivors of a cataclysmic solar event that has left the world a wasteland, is played by Tom Hanks. Finch, on the other hand, has created his own universe, which he shares with his dog, Goodyear, who has been living in an underground bunker for a decade. When he can no longer watch over Goodyear, he builds a robot, played by Jones. Finch tries to teach his creation, Jeff, the joy and wonder of what it is to be alive as the three embarks on a perilous adventure through the harsh American West.
As difficult as it is for Finch to convince Jeff and Goodyear to get along as it is for him to manage the dangers of the new world, their road trip is packed with both problems and laughter.
Miguel Sapochnik, who directed numerous critical episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones, including the fan-favorite “Battle of the Bastards,” won an Emmy for Finch. Craig Luck and Ivor Powell collaborated on the script. Robert Zemeckis, who directed Tom Hanks in another solo survival story, 2000’s Cast Away, is part of the producing team.
