Vidyut Jammwal calls out Disney+ Hotstar for ignoring his film amid other big releases
Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal is not happy with the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar as they ignored his film amid other big releases!
The OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar had a big announcement today. The buzz started in the morning with several Bollywood celebs announcing a Live session on Instagram from the OTT platforms’s handle.
The poster featured Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. However, the actor Vidyut Jammwal is not very happy with this. He has called out Disney+ Hotstar for ignoring his film amid other big releases.
Sharing the poster, he said, “A BIG announcement for sure!! 7 films scheduled for release but only 5 are deemed worthy of representation. 2 films, receive no invitation or intimation. It’s a long road ahead. THE CYCLE CONTINUES.”
The films that are going to have a direct OTT release on the platform are Sadak 2, Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, The Big Bull, Dil Bechara, Khuda Haafiz and Lootcase. While the first four films feature A-list stars, Dil Bechara has already created buzz as it is the late actor Sushant’s last film. But the platform has completely neglected the last two films which has not gone well with the actor.
Vidyut’s tweet has come at a time when the country has already been fuming about the way the industry has been treating the outsiders. Sushant Singh Rajput’s death once again sparked the debate of nepotism in the country.
The actor’s followers too seemed displeased with Disney+ Hotstar as they criticised the platform.
Talking about Viddyut Jammwal’s film, Khuda Haafiz is directed by Faruk Kabir. The film also stars Shivaleeka Oberoi.
