Video of Virat Kohli out to Bhuvneshwar Kumar in 1st over : RCB vs SRH

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, 06 October 2021, 07:30 PM IST

Match Report :  SRH were 105/2 after 14 overs. They ended with 141 – which is just 36 runs in the last 6 overs. Terrific comeback by RCB and it is their leading wicket-taker Harshal Patel again. Earlier on a slow wicket, after the loss of Abhishek Sharma, Roy and Williamson handled the conditions and the pitch to string together a 70-run stand before Harshal got into the act.

Dan Christian showed his experience with the ball and took a stunning return catch to dismiss Roy and after that, the innings was all about edges and mishits. Couple of them went to the fence, but RCB never let things get away. SRH’s middle and lower middle order again failed to perform well and that has been a worrying pattern for them this year.

Will that cost them another game? Or can their bowlers defend 141 to ensure CSK are guaranteed of a top two spot?

Most wickets in an IPL season

Daniel Christian – “I have a couple (of more franchises) left in my young legs (laughs), I’m still enjoying it. Happy to have got a couple of wickets. Roy and Wiliamson were going on well, I think it’s a good effort to restrict them to 140-odd.

Lucky one for me, a bit of self-preservation (on the return catch), Jason absolutely smashed that, I got lucky that it came straight into my hands. was going well and it was a good wicket at that stage, was an important wicket as well. Should track this down, I think this was a 170-18- runs wicket, it’s really good.

If one of the guys at the top of the order gets 70 or 80 odd, it’s a par total, a good start and needs one of our top-4 to get going. I don’t think there’s any sign of dew out there, the ball did stay dry.”

KS Bharat | Royal Challengers Bangalore – “It’s a great feeling to be in RCB’s dressing room, sharing space with legends like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell, it gives a huge advantage for young players, you end up learning a lot of good things from the team.

We were communicating on what can be done on that wicket in terms of building a partnership (in the game against Rajasthan Royals), it was Maxi who really made it easy for me to understand my role better and he was guiding me on areas we could target.

It helps a lot to understand the pressure and professional behaviour, it’s not easy to deliver with crowds around, helps to understand things better, featuring in the India or the ‘A’ team dressing room plays a big role in your development as a cricketer.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar on playing 100th match for SRH : “Feels good. When you play for so long for any franchise, it feels good. It shows they trusted you and backed you. So, of course, it is a good feeling. I think it is challenging.

Because after a certain time, the batters get used to specific variations. They plan you in that manner. It is always important to keep coming with new things and also keep polishing the things you have. The seam position comes naturally to me.”
