Video highlights: RCB vs MI – RCB win by 54 runs

RCB vs MI, September 26, 2021, 19:30 IST

Dubai International Stadium

RCB end their losing streak in the UAE which stood at 7 before this game. This is a game won by the bowlers. Especially Harshal Patel. With supporting acts from the others. Mumbai just lost their way after Ishan Kishan’s powerful drive stung Rohit’s left-hand. From then on things went South. Rohit holed out in the deep after getting medical attention and then it all depended on Pollard but Harshal killed the game off with a hat-trick that included the big Trinidadian.

– First time RCB has bowled out MI in IPL
– First time RCB has done the double over MI in a season in IPL
– The last time MI lost three successive matches was in 2018 when they started off with three defeats in first three games.

It was a fantastic bowling effort from Mumbai Indians too, especially at the death overs. At one stage RCB looked like scoring 180-plus. Batters let MI down. That’s been something that’s been happening consistently (losing their way with the bat). The captain Rohit Sharma must have a chat with his batting department. Those who are in need to carry on. RCB kept the pressure on MI once a couple of wickets fell.

MI need to bounce back from the situation they are in. They have done that in the past. Just not happening this season.

Ishan Kishan failing to deliver

Ishan is a talented player. He’s had a terrific IPL last year. MI would want to back his natural game which is why he came up the order above Surya. They surely don’t want to put too much pressure on him. Relatively young, making his way in international cricket.

Harshal Patel picks up Hat-trick

It was Harshal’s sixth time being on a hat-trick and he finally got one, that too against the most successful franchise of IPL.In the process, he became the third bowler to pick up a hat-trick for RCB.

A big statement from Yuzvendra Chahal in his first head-to-head against the side of the legspinner whom he lost out to. It is Chahals slow legspin that turned the tide when Mumbai were rushing towards the target. Glenn Maxwell took out two wickets and Harshal took a hat-trick.

RCB can now breathe easy as they are now four points clear of the next teams positioned fourth. Mumbai are one of them and now need to win every match from here.
