Varun Dhawan explains why he married Natasha Dalal in a low-key ritual: I wished for everyone’s safety
When Varun Dhawan married his longtime girlfriend Natasha Dalal earlier this year, he broke millions of hearts. Alibaug’s wedding celebrations were small and modest, with just close friends and family in present.
And now that the Student of the Year actor has been married for nearly six months, Varun has spoken out about his decision to have a low-key wedding instead of the typical big fat Bollywood weddings.
Low Profile Wedding
Varun told Hindustan Times that he made the decision because he wanted everyone to be safe in the midst of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. “During this time, we had to be responsible and follow the regulations. I’m not someone who wants to accomplish something large, but you have to respect whatever systems are in place.
The actor from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was reported as stating, “I had old people from my family coming, and I wanted everyone to be safe, so it was low-key.” He also stated that, despite his preference for maintaining a low profile in his personal life, he chose to make his D-Day a private affair.

“That’s the kind of person I am in terms of my personal life,” Varun explained. I’d prefer keep it low-key, especially because Natasha isn’t from this film industry. The entire show-sha is excessive, and this is not the time for it. As a country, we’ll have to get back on our feet. We need schools and other facilities to open, and then I believe everything else can follow that.”
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Varun is positioned to take on the horror genre in his upcoming film Bhediya, which he will star in opposite Kriti Sanon. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, will be released on April 14 of next year.
