
Upcoming Netflix Superhero-Comedy ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Completes Filming
The Umbrella Academy season III has complete filming as of September 2021.
While both previous seasons of the superhero-comedy-drama have been grand success, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season 3.
Comic-Superhero Netflix Original
The Umbrella Academy is a Netflix Original created by Steve Blackman. The comic-thriller show is actually based on the comic by the same name penned by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá.
While superhero shows and movies have been gaining more and more popularity from the past decade, a show like The Umbrella Academy adds more freshness to it with the comic aspect.
How Did Season 2 Perform?
The Season 2 of ‘The Umbrella Academy’ fetches four Emmy nominations after being release in July 2020. It was nominated in best cinematography, best fantasy/sci-fi costumes, sound editing, and special visual effects categories.
Even before the second season was released, rumors were running high about a renewal for season 3 for The Umbrella Academy has already been decided. However, the official confirmation from Netflix came in November 2020.
Season 3 Episodes
The Umbrella Academy is extremely well-received by Netflix subscribers and was easily one of the best Originals to return in 2020.
The filming for season three began in February 2021. According to WhatsonNetflix, the show will not mark its return on Netflix until the Spring or Summer of 2022.
