To Help The Next Spider-Man Actor

The iconic web-slinger was represented by two actors before Holland was introduced to the MCU as Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Tobey Maguire played the superhero for the first time in Sam Raimi’s popular 2002 version. Their trilogy went on to become a movie office smash, generating more than $2 billion.

Regardless of what happens, Holland has promised to back whoever succeeds him. The current Spider-Man actor got open about portraying such a revered character in a recent interview with Total Film (via The Direct). Because he doesn’t know what the future holds for his Spider-Man, Holland has promised to mentor the “young child” they cast to take his place, whether that be next year or in five years.

Below is what Holland had to say:

When they cast the young kid in Spider-Man to replace me, whether it’s next year or in five years, I’ll take it upon myself to teach them about the responsibilities of being Spider-Man. Because it’s huge. It’s absolutely huge. Every time you walk outside that door, you’re representing Spider-Man. It’s tough. It’s taxing sometimes. Because sometimes you just want to go to a pub and get absolutely wasted, and not have to worry about the ramifications of the public scrutiny of: “Oh my God, what do you mean you got drunk?”

Venom 2’s post-credits scene teased a crossover involving Holland’s Spider-Man and Tom Hardy’s symbiote  Many people are probably not thinking about the next Spider-Man actor just yet, with the highly anticipated MCU threequel due next month.

Many people don’t want to see Holland replaced just yet, given how popular he is and how many exciting options still exist for his current forms, such as a crossover into Sony’s Spider-Man universe or a fourth solo film based in the MCU.
