Tim Campbell To Replace Claude Littner For Next Season Of ‘The Apprentice’

Claude Littner will not be seen in all the episodes of the next season of “The Apprentice” until he recovers from a bicycle accident he had just recently.

The business tycoon had been involved in an accident which occurred in April, when the electric bike he was riding crashed. That damaged his right leg so badly that the doctors were considering amputating it.

To date, he has undergone nine surgeries, and another one is planned for the 19th of July.

Replacement Of Claude Littner

Ex-winner of the show Tim Campbell joins Lord Alan Sugar and Baroness Karren in San Francisco, California, when the series will return to BBC One into the beginning of 2022.

Littner had previously replaced Nick Hewer on ‘The Apprentice’ in 2015. Life is indeed a full circle.

Lord Sugar said that he had been in regular contact with his long-time friend and business partner, and hopes to see him back in the hall “very soon”.

The Background

Littner, 72, said he was “pottering along” out of his home in the North of London area where the crash happened.

“I suspect I hit a pothole or something like that,” he said. “The next thing I knew I was lying on the ground.”

An ambulance took him to St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, where surgeons managed to save his leg.

‘Glued To Action From My Sofa’

Littner reveals that he had lost two stone (12.7 kg), after the accident but he had the “absolute determination” to restore it.

“Whilst I’m disappointed that I won’t be out and about covering the tasks or in the boardroom for this upcoming series, I’ll most definitely be glued to the action from my sofa.”

What Did Campbell Say?

Campbell, who won the first season of The Apprentice series that aired in 2005, said he was “saddened” to hear about the nearly-fatal event of Littner and was “happy” to be in his chair as a substitute.

“Having been on the show myself, I know the hard work that goes into it so I didn’t take the decision lightly,” he added. “I wish Claude the very best as he recovers.”
