The original cast of This Is Us has apparently agreed to $2 million incentives for the final season; and another cast member has reportedly requested the same. When it premiered on NBC in 2016, the series set itself apart from traditional family dramas by following the lives of married couple Jack and Rebecca Pearson ;(Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore), their three children, and others in their orbit through multiple timeframes.

However, the writers have continued to inject new characters and complexities into the basic story with each new part. The major pull of This Is Us has been the chemistry between the core actors; who have been part of the show since the beginning, even as it has continued to extend its cast of supporting characters and weave in multiple timeframes in the journey.

The drama has remained a smash thanks to the interplay between Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley; Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, and Jon Huertas; in addition to Ventimiglia and Moore. The programme would not succeed without them, no matter how brilliant the script is.

The primary adult cast of This Is Us has requested wage raises ahead of the drama’s sixth and final season, according to Deadline. The suggestion, which was based on the show’s success, was first met with opposition from both 20th Television (the show’s production company); and NBC.

However, 20th TV and NBC have agreed to pay each of the original cast members a $2 million cash incentive, with the exception of Huertas; who plays Miguel, who will receive a $1 million bonus. The performers’ requests were supported by Dan Fogelman, the creator and executive producer of This Is Us.

The Cast Fought For Equal Bonus To Jon Huertas Who Plays Miguel

Huertas, who was a recurring character in season 1 until being promoted to a series regular in season 2; received a lot of support from the cast. They fought for him to have a bonus that was equal to theirs; but they were unsuccessful. Some, if not all, of the original seven stars; reportedly offered to remove a portion of their bonuses so that Huertas could have the same salary; but Huertas turned down the offer, according to sources.

Following the second season of This Is Us, the seven performers; — Ventimiglia, Moore, Brown, Metz, Hartley, Watson, and Sullivan – negotiated rises. The performers, who had been paid differently at the outset, were all paid $250,000 per episode. Since they’ve maintained parity.

The winning ensemble joins the casts of other shows such as Friends and The Big Bang Theory in requesting pay raises in anticipation of the sixth season of This Is Us; which starts on January 4. This Is Us has the distinction of being a network drama that is concluding with much hype at a time; when most of the small-screen interest has migrated to streaming and cable.
