The worldwide box office for Eternals has surpassed $300 million
The global box office for Marvel’s Eternals has surpassed $300 million. Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Angelina Jolie, Don Lee, and even Harry Styles make cameo appearances in the latest entry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It was directed by Chloé Zhao, who earned an Academy Award for Best Director for her film Nomadland, which also won Best Picture at the 93rd Academy Awards.
Eternals has surpassed $300 million
The plot follows a group of Earth’s defenders known as Eternals, an alien species of creatures who arrived on the planet over 7,000 years ago to protect it from Deviants and a new threat known as the Emergence. The film has gotten mixed reviews from reviewers since its November 5 release, and it has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of any MCU film.
The film’s pacing, runtime, and use of characters have all been criticized, but its themes and visuals have been praised.
Despite the film’s lukewarm reviews, Box Office Pro reports that it has already crossed $300 million at the global box office. Despite the fact that the film has just been out for two weeks, it is expected to make money at the box office as fans come to watch the latest MCU picture. It has grossed $123.6 million in the United States and is anticipated to continue to rise.
It is currently the ninth highest-grossing film in the United States, surpassing Free Guy but falling short of No Time to Die. Unlike Free Guy, which was released in August, and No Time to Die, which was released in October, Eternals has only been available for two weeks. Eternals already had a strong opening weekend and will likely continue to be a popular film until Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theatres on December 17. This accomplishment is simply another example of Marvel’s ability to take the obscure source material and turn it into a blockbuster.
