The Teaser Trailer For Chucky Teases The Horror To Come

The debut trailer for Chucky, from SYFY and USA, teases the fear to come from the horror series based on the Child’s Play film franchise. A vintage Good Guy doll pops up at a yard sale in an idyllic tiny town in the series. Following that, a string of killings occurs, bringing the town’s dark secrets to light.

The series comes from franchise creator Don Mancini and will serve as a sequel to 2017’s Cult of Chucky as well as a prelude to a rumoured eighth feature in the works.

Brad Dourif as the titular killer doll, Jennifer Tilly as love interest and fellow killer Tiffany Valentine, Alex Vincent as original protagonist Andy Barclay, Christine Elise McCarthy as Kyle from Child’s Play 2, and Fiona Dourif as recent protagonist Nica Pierce will all reprise their roles in Chucky.

Devon Sawa, Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, and Alyvia Alyn Lind will all join the cast as newcomers to the franchise. Chucky’s premiere is just around the corner, following a setback caused by the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and a change of hands between USA Network and SYFY.

Chucky Teaser

SYFY has released the first teaser trailer for Chucky, following Sawa’s announcement of a teaser image for the series. The teaser features the first look at the show’s protagonist, Jake Webber, as well as a glimpse of Sawa’s yet-to-be-named character and the titular doll.

Take a look at this amazing teaser:

The killer doll’s design remained consistent throughout the first five films in the Child’s Play franchise, with the exception of Bride (1998) and Seed of Chucky (2004), which featured a scarred version of the character. Given its description as a vintage Good Guy doll, it was unclear whether the SYFY series would use the same new design as the Curse of Chucky and its 2017 follow-up or return back to the original film’s.

Even if fans were expecting for a return to the original design, the upcoming arrival of Chucky is guaranteed to keep viewers entertained until the entire trailer premieres at Comic-Con@Home next week.
