Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy reveals that the storytelling scope of season 4 is more epic than ever before. The long-awaited new season of Netflix’s hit show has been pushed back several times. Although filming began in early 2020, the production was forced to halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Filming resumed in September of 2020 and has continued since then, leaving fans eager for any updates on the new season.

Stranger Things Season 3 debuted over two years ago and featured a number of cliffhangers that kept viewers on the edge of their seats. Since then, some plot details from the fourth season have been revealed, including Hopper’s (David Harbour) fate, which was previously unknown.

Hopper, who was presumed dead at the end of the previous season, is now a prisoner in a Russian prison camp, according to new season details.

Another game-changing season 3 cliffhanger was the entire Byers family’s permanent departure from Hawkins. Both of these plot lines, which are central to the upcoming season, hint at the series’ expanding scope.

In an interview with Slash Film, Levy reveals that the storytelling scope of Stranger Things season 4 is more epic than ever. While Levy doesn’t reveal any new plot details, he does say that the new season will be “bigger” and “more mature.”
