The release date for Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 has been set for November

Season 4 of Star Trek: Discovery will air in November, according to Paramount+. Star Trek: Discovery premiered in 2019 as one of the flagship shows of CBS All Access, the then-new streaming service. It was the first new Star Trek series on the air in fourteen years, following the cancellation of Star Trek: Enterprise in 2005.

Star Trek: Discovery premiered on CBS All Access for the first three seasons, with the streaming service rebranding itself as Paramount+ shortly after season 3, clearing the way for season 4 to premiere on Paramount+.

Set For November

Season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery concluded on January 7, 2021, with Michael Burnham (Soneque Martin-Green) assuming command of the USS Discovery for the first time. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Season 4 was delayed, with the authors working from home and production being pushed back.

The plot of the following season is unknown, except that it will contain a non-living villain. With the revelation that producer Alex Kurtzman’s contract with CBS has been extended, the series is already in development for season 5.

Streaming on 55th anniversary

During Star Trek Day, Paramount+ announced that Star Trek: Discovery season 4 will release on the streaming service on November 18, 2021, marking the 55th anniversary of the series.

The number of episodes in the new season has yet to be confirmed by Paramount. Season 4’s press release hinted that the crew of the USS Discovery will face an opponent unlike any they’ve encountered before, and that the federation and non-federation worlds will have to work together.

November is a fitting release date

The fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery will premiere in November, which is a good time. In November, both Star Trek: Generations and Star Trek: First Contact were released in theatres.

Star Trek: Generations premiered on November 18, 1994, making the start of Star Trek: Discovery season 4 coincide with the 27th anniversary of the film. J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek was released on home video on November 17, 2009, and Star Trek: Discovery’s “Unification,” a legacy-focused episode from last season, premiered on Thanksgiving Day 2020. This year on Paramount+, there is plenty of Star Trek for fans, including the release of Star Trek: Prodigy in October.
