The Monsters at Work trailer depicts the evolution of Inc. since the release of the first film

Monsters, Incorporated has undergone some alterations in a new trailer for the upcoming Disney+ show Monsters at Work. The new animated series, which picks up six months after the events of the original Monsters, Inc., features the return of lead characters James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) and Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), as well as new characters voiced by Mindy Kaling, Ben Feldman, and Henry Winkler. On July 2, 2021, Disney+ will premiere Monsters at Work.

The new series will pick up after the events of Monsters, Inc. and illustrate the same power company’s transformation from scream power to laugh power, which was disclosed in the final scenes of the first film.

Mike and Sully have been promoted to higher leadership positions in the meanwhile to help manage the organization’s move from frightening children to making them laugh. A variety of new monsters appear on the series, many of whom work for M.I.F.T. — Monsters Incorporated Facilities Team.

Both experienced and novice characters adjust to the company’s recent changes in the new Monsters at Work Trailer. When the corporation no longer hires scarers, new protagonist Tylor Tuskmon (Feldman) is upset, but he rapidly becomes an integral part of the new maintenance staff. Characters like Val Little (Kaling) and Fritz (Winkler) are also introduced in the teaser, and they appear to be expanding the Monsters universe in some interesting new ways. It’s great to finally get a chance to revisit the strange world Pixar built after so many years. It’s nice to hear Goodman and Crystal riffing as Mike and Sully again, and the mix of old and new characters creates a nice mix of nostalgia and new possibility. Because the two characters spent the majority of the prequel film Monsters University as rivals, less of their comedy-duo genius was exposed. The two are now properly reunited.
