The Lord of the Rings actor expects the Amazon series to be fantastic
Sean Astin, from the Lord of the Rings films, thinks Amazon’s LOTR series will be fantastic. Lord of the Rings, written by J.R.R. Tolkien, is one of the best-selling novels of all time, with a spate of epic cinematic adaptations directed by Peter Jackson. Amazon shocked the fantasy world in 2018 when it announced a multi-season Lord of the Rings TV series.
Amazon’s drama is set in the Tolkien timeline known as The Second Age, and takes place long before the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. The Second Age spans 3,441 years, beginning with the creation of the One Ring and concluding with the destruction of Sauron’s army.
It contains numerous storey arcs and new characters for the tale. While specifics regarding Amazon’s newest adaptation of Tolkien’s writings are still scarce, the series is already generating buzz. The show’s official synopsis was released, the series cost more than the Lord of the Rings trilogy combined, and the cast roster was completed.
Words From Astin
Astin, who played hobbit Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, told ComingSoon that he had great hopes for Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series. “I have every confidence that this Lord of the Rings adaption is going to be amazing,” Astin said of his eagerness to watch the first season of Lord of the Rings.
Astin stated that he is excited to see Tolkien’s The Silmarillion included in the adaptation and on the small screen, and that now is the best time for a new generation to enjoy Lord of the Rings.
Lord of the Rings, written by Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne, could be the most expensive, thorough, and extensive TV series ever made. Of course, Lord of the Rings has a devoted fan following, including stars from the original trilogy films, and anticipation for Amazon’s new take on Tolkien’s iconic masterpiece continues to grow.
