On Friday, Salman Khan received his second dose of Covid-19 vaccine. His parents, Salim and Salma Khan, had received their second dose on May 9, he had previously announced. Salman Khan administered the second dose of the novel coronavirus vaccine on Friday. The 55-year-old actor was spotted at a centre in Dadar, Mumbai, where he received his first dose of the vaccine in March.
Salman revealed in a recent interview that his parents, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan and producer Salma Khan, received their second dose on May 9, while his brother, producer Arbaaz Khan, got his first shot on Sunday.
The actor got his vaccination just a day after his much-anticipated film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai premiered on multiple platforms, including OTT and DTH. The film is also available to watch on Zee Plex, a cost broadcast channel. Several movie stars, including Rajinikanth, Saif Ali Khan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Kamal Haasan, and others, have received vaccinations.
On March 1, the Indian government initiated a nationwide vaccination campaign for people over the age of 60 and those aged 45 to 59 who have co-morbidities. The Maharashtra government declared last month that it would provide anti-Covid-19 vaccines to people between the ages of 18 and 44.
Maharashtra registered 42,582 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, down nearly 4,200 cases from the day before, while 850 more patients died from the disease, according to the state health department.
