Taapsee Pannu: The only reason I decided to perform Rashmi Rocket was for gender testing

Taapsee Pannu was taken aback when she discovered Gender Testing because she had no idea what it involved. According to the actor, she wanted to be the vehicle for presenting a subject that is still important today.

When asked by IANS if she was familiar with gender testing or gender verification, Taapsee replied: “I was unaware of it, which is one of the reasons I wanted to participate because I am a huge sports fan and enthusiast. As a result, I was taken aback.”

The sports drama, directed by Akarsh Khurana, tells the story of a small-town girl who overcomes all cultural obstacles to become a national-level athlete but is disrupted when she is asked to take a gender test.

Taapsee went on to say: “I went back and did a lot of study on it and discovered the full depth of the problem, which was only affecting women. As a result, I felt even more compelled to be the vehicle for presenting this issue, which has gone unnoticed for years and is still very much present, as recently as the Tokyo Olympics. It has to be completed.”

On October 15, the film will be released on ZEE5.

Pannu Sisters On The Floor

Taapsee recently released a video on her Instagram account in which she and her sisters appeared to be in full Navratri mode as they danced to Rashmi Rocket’s song. Taapsee looked stunning in an all-black ghagra as they all did the Garba and nailed the song’s hook step.

Taapsee encouraged people to join the trend by sharing the video. She penned, “@shagun pannu @evaniapannu with my #GhaniCoolChori We do it all together at our own Navratri venue called “Pannu Pind,” from Biggini to Ghagra.”

As soon as Taapsee shared the video on social media, it became viral. It also grabbed the attention of celebrities. Sanya Malhotra’s films completely captivated her. In response to the video, writer Kanika Dhillon said, “How awesome is @shagun Pannu in this!!”

Meanwhile, the song is acquiring great popularity ahead of the Navratri season. In the film Rashmi Rocket, Taapsee Pannu plays a sprinter who fights a court after failing her gender determination test. Ronnie Screwvala produces the picture, which is directed by Akarsh Khurana. It will be broadcast on ZEE5 on October 15, 2021.
