Sunny Leone Teams Up With PETA India To Distribute 10,000 Meals To Migrant Workers In Delhi

With COVID-19 causing more migrant workers to face financial losses and uncertainty, food shortages, and uncertainty about the future, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has partnered with actress Sunny Leone to supply 10,000 migrant workers of Delhi pack of vegan meal through the Uday Foundation .

What Did Sunny Leone Say?

“I am excited to partner up again with PETA India and – in this case, to distribute protein-rich vegan-rich foods for thousands in need,” Leone said.

“We are facing a huge problem, but together, with compassion and unity, we will come out on top.”

The diet being distributed consists of dairy and rice or khichdi as well as many fruits. One cup of boiled cereal contains 17.9 grams of protein. A chicken egg contains only six grams

Vegan Meal Distribution

A vegan diet can help prevent conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and other diseases that increase the risk of death from COVID-19.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the largest food and nutrition workers’ organization, says, “Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity.”

The distribution of vegan food is also up to date as the current pandemic is believed to be coming from the meat market of live animals.

PETA India’s 2016 Person Of The Year

Similarly, SARS, bird flu, swine flu, Ebola, HIV, and numerous other diseases are believed to have spread to humans from animals at live-animal markets, on factory farms, or during slaughter.

Leone was nominated as PETA India’s Person of the Year in 2016 and previously appeared in the organization’s campaigns to support vegan fashion, vegetarianism, and dog and cat adoption and birth control.

She made her Bollywood debut in the 2012 erotic thriller Jism 2 and will soon be seen in Shero and Anamika.
