Star Wars: The Bad Batch Could Feature Boba Fett

Boba Fett could appear in Disney+’s Star Wars: The Bad Batch, according to supervising director Brad Rau. The animated series is a continuation of The Clone Wars, created by Lucasfilm Executive Producer and Executive Creative Director Dave Filoni and co-developed by him and Jennifer Corbett. In the aftermath of Order 66, the titular gang of genetically modified elite clone warriors deserts the Galactic Empire and undertakes daring mercenary operations.

Boba Fett made his Star Wars début in the iconic Star Wars Holiday Special before going on to play a bounty hunter for both the Empire and criminal lord Jabba the Hutt in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

After being killed off in the latter film and having his backstory fleshed out in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and animated series, Boba would make his proper return in season 2 of The Mandalorian, starring Temuera Morrison, who had previously played genetic clone template Jango Fett in the prequels.

Word From Dircetor

Screen Rant spoke exclusively with The Bad Batch supervising director and executive producer Rau ahead of the premiere of the Disney+ series. When asked about the prospect of Boba appearing in the series, he was fairly silent, but he did provide a cryptic tease. Here’s what Rau had to say: Boba Fett is most likely alive during this time period, according to the timeline. That is correct, I believe.”

Disney+ has offered enough of fantastic fan service for longtime Star Wars fans over the last season of The Clone Wars and the first two seasons of The Mandalorian without appearing forced or over-the-top.

Filoni and his partners have been working on all cylinders, from bringing beloved Jedi Ahsoka Tano to the live-action world with Rosario Dawson to the satisfying finale of The Clone Wars. Halfway through season 1, Star Wars: The Bad Batch has already demonstrated that the franchise’s small-screen world is still going strong.
