Spirited, a new Apple Original Film starring Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell, filming in Boston

Spirited, Ryan Reynolds’ forthcoming Apple Original Film, was announced today. The actor revealed that filming for the film, which also stars Will Ferrell, began today in Boston.

Reynolds shared a photo from the set of the film, which included him and Ferrell.

A Christmas Carol is described as a “modern musical interpretation of Charles Dickens’ iconic holiday story.” Octavia Spencer and Sunita Mani both star in Spirited.

Sean Anders, who also acts as a writer alongside John Morris, directs Spirited (Daddy’s Home, Daddy’s Home 2, Instant Family, Horrible Bosses 2).

Reynolds is producing through his Maximum Effort brand, as are Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and David Koplan through Gloria Sanchez Productions. Maximum Effort is executive produced by George Dewey.
