Sofia Vergara Celebrates Her 6-Year Dating Anniversary with Husband Joe Manganiello

Sofia and Joe started dating in 2014 and got married a year later. Their lives changed for the better after meeting each other.

The couple celebrated their six year dating anniversary on Sunday. Sofia, 47, marked the occasion with a heartfelt tribute to her husband.

She posted a picture on social media, which showed the attractive couple seated at a table for a candlelit dinner near patio doors.

Monolo is Sofia’s son from her first marriage with Joe Gonzalez.

Another snap on Vergara’s feed shows her nuzzling the neck of the hunky True Blood star, who smiles from ear to ear.

‘6 yrs since u went and found me!!! happy aniversary [sic],’ she captioned that image.

‘U r mine!’ she added, along with various emojis.

Fans went wild for the photo. Vergara’s post racked up over 395,900 likes and close to 2,000 comments within six hours of going live on Instagram.

Joe’s post for Sofia

Joe, for his part, wished his lady love a happy anniversary in his own way on his social media, including two text posts in Spanish.

‘Feliz Aniversario Mi Amor’ (Happy Anniversary My Love) read the first text slide, which featured the color of love, red.

‘Para la mujer de mis suenos…’ (For the woman of my dreams…) read the subsequent image, in a more subdued cream color.

Love you Love you Love you …six years!’ Joe captioned the post.

Sofia and Joe tied the knot on November 15, at The Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. It was a private ceremony with close family and friends.

Vergara and Manganiello’s story

Sofia and Joe first met at the White House Correspondants’ dinner party in 2014. Joe Manganiello later joined in with former People editor-in-chief, as his guest.

During a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, the actor recalled being immediately smitten with his now-wife.

“As we’re walking around, who comes swooping down in front of us for about 100 yards is Sofia Vergara,” he recalled of the dinner. “She was wearing this dress that looked great on her, and I just could not take my eyes off of her.”

Later that night, Sofia’s Modern Family co-star, Jesse Tyler, came up to Joe and said, “My friend Sofia wants to come over and say hi.”

At the time, Vergara had been engaged to then-fiancé, Nick Loeb. The couple split three weeks later and Tyler gave Vergara’s phone number to Manganiello “and the rest is history.”

In addition to celebrating their love story this weekend, the actors also recently acquired their second California home. Last week, the America’s Got Talent judge and Manganiello, 43, bought a $26 million mansion in the gated Los Angeles neighborhood of Beverly Park, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Vergara and Manganiello also own a home in Beverly Hills, where they have been hunkering down together amid the coronavirus pandemic. Just last month, the Modern Family star told PEOPLE the couple was thriving while quarantining together.

“Actually, we’ve been very good. It’s like we haven’t got under each other’s skins,” Vergara said.

“We can’t complain, actually. We’re all staying at home. I have a big house so I’ve been able to have my son, my niece, my husband and three dogs. We’ve been lucky that we’ve been able to be comfortable,” she said of Manganiello as well as her son Manolo and niece Claudia.
