Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Calls Out Machine Gun Kelly For ‘Airing Private S–t’

Machine Gun Kelly had closed the Chicago’s Riot Fest on Sunday, September 19. He was called out by the metal band Slipknot at the same time when they were closing out the same music festival from a different stage.

The singer had apparently asked the lights to be turned on while he said, “Let me see who chose to be here instead of with all the old, weird dudes with masks”. On the other hand, Chicago Sun Times reported that the rapper turned punk-rocker addressed his audience; seemingly responding to MGK’s comments.

He said, “Hey, you all know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old, wearing a f**in’ weird mask on a f**in’ stage”. After this incident, Machine Gun Kelly took to social media to take another dig at the band. This led to Corey Taylor, the lead vocalist to hit back at the singer.

MGK taking that dig did not go down well with the band’s loyal fans either who have been loving their music since 1995. They dragged the singer on the internet and claimed that Eminem ended his rap career; and Slipknot will end his rock career. This is in connection to MGK wanting to collaborate with the band for his now-award winning album, Tickets to My Downfall.

MGK’s diss came after Taylor in one of the recent interviews. He was saying that he hates all new rock and the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock. The singer further took to Twitter after the onstage mocking and said it is very odd that when one artist talks “s–t” and he responds; he is the bad guy.

Corey Vs MGK

The Bloody Valentine hitmaker revealed the reason behind the dissing and the entire mess. He shared that Corey had done a verse for a song on tickets to my downfall album. The singer added that it was terrible and he did not use it. MGK further said, “he got mad about it, and talked s**t to a magazine about the same album he was almost on. yalls stories are all off. Just admit he’s bitter.”

MGK ended his tweet as he urged Corey or people in general not to hate on the youth. Corey, however, decided to respond to MGK with evidence. He shared two screenshots of the mail sent to him by MGK’s close pal and collaborator, Travis Barker. The rockstar was sharing his side of the story and he expressed that he dislikes people who air private things. He explained that he did not do the track because he does not like when people try to ‘write’ for him.

Corey told them no and declared that this is all he will say about it. We could see in the screenshots that Travis has informed Corey how excited MGK was to perform with them. But he had also suggested a few changes which might not have gone down well with them. MGK had asked Travis to tell Corey how excited and honored he is to have them on it.

“The older generation and weird stans gotta stop.”

Another pointer read, “I sent Corey an idea for the second half of his verse and he can obviously say f**k it; but it would be sick to see if it inspired anything or if he could try it like that.”MGK and Corey would have collaborated on the track called, Can’t Look Back. The lead vocalist shared another screenshot which revealed how he later told Travis that he is not the right fit for the song.

Corey said it is nothing personal but someone else is the guy to do it and he is excited for MGK. This did not go down well with MGK and replied to Corey’s post. The hitmaker said he just asked Corey if he could rewrite. He wrote, “Basically, your verse was really bad. respectfully; i was just telling you to rewrite it because it was really bad. respectfully. But let’s do a britney spears song cover together” followed by an emoticon of devil horns.

MGK took to his social media again to ask what was wrong with the older generation; seemingly pointing fingers towards Slipknot. He captioned the story as, “The older generation and weird stans gotta stop.”
